ROSSLARE
Rosslare Harbour is now the Southeast's main port following the decline of
the old Viking port in Wexford. Situated 12.5 miles south of Wexford Town, the
harbour has busy connections with Fishguard, Pembroke, Cherbourg and Le Harvre.
Stena Lines provide a unique day-trip service to Oakwood Leisure Park which has
one of the top rollercoasters in the world. Rosslare should not be confused with
Rosslare town, 5 miles north of the harbour.
The town itself, situated beside a long sandy beach, has the magnificent Kelly's
hotel with all the popular sports and leisure facilities. Entertainment is never
lacking in Rosslare, with many bars providing lively, traditional Irish music
session most evenings of the summer.
